On Sunday, we drove up to Flagstaff and enjoyed a fabulous winter day with our family. Our kids had NEVER seen snow before, and luckily for us, it had just snowed in Flagstaff the night before. Avery was mesmorized looking out the window and seeing the white snow all over the ground. We found this little patch of flat ground that still had a lot of untouched snow and let the kids have at it.
Of course, since we never see snow, we did not have any gloves or boots or any winter attire, so we layered the best we could and got our fingers cold playing in the snow with our hands. Avery didn't seem to mind.

Even I got in on the action. It was actually really fun. I felt like a little kid making snowballs and chasing the girls and watching our footprints in the snow behind us.
Brandon had to capture these "plumber" shots of Hayden & Avery :)
Avery writing her name in the snow.

Kiley did not like walking in the snow at first, but after a little while she was running around with the other two having a great time. She did fall right on her face once, which she did not like, but she got over it quickly.
Hayden actually didn't want to get out of the car when we first got there. (Who knows why?) But after seeing her sisters run around and have fun outside, she finally agreed to come out and play too. I'm so glad she didn't miss out on this experience. She loved playing in the snow!

Brandon was able to get some really cute pics of the girls and I know this will be a day that we all remember for a long time. On the way home, Avery said, "Winter is my favorite season." It was so sweet and really one of the best days we have had as a family in a long time. I'm so glad we were able to finish off our Thanksgiving break in such a fun and memorable way. I just hope it's not another five years until we get to play in the snow again. Happy Winter!
